For example in one of our deployments we integrated our solution with the schools existing Microsoft IAS RADIUS and Active Directory servers. Moving more to a mobile ICT environment you will be considering and have concerns around centralised management, security, reliability and integration into your existing infrastructure.

Our ACU customers represent a fertile ground for technology and hence the possibilities are endless. You will normally choose a two (wireless access points + controller) or three (wireless access points + controller + management system) layer solution which is fully integrated into their servers and management systems, hence creating a seamless extension of the existing infrastructure, whilst maintaining a high degree of control over the wireless environment and end user management. ACU solutions typically span multiple campuses catering for a large number of existing users and are integrated into ISA server environments where multiple Microsoft active directories (AD’s) are negotiated as part of the authentication process in conjunction with IAS Radius or other AAA servers. WLAN > LAN is normally a key security concern and features into our designs heavily using managed layer 2 / 3 infrastructure, Wi-Fi compliant security mechanisms, user / session based firewalls and VPNs where required. In addition multi SSID environments are enabled and mapped onto multi-VLAN domains for additional security, traffic segregation and guaranteed bandwidth when running QoS services such as VoWiFi.
